Mimulus Ruby Silver - Ruby Silver Hybrid Monkey Flower
Mimulus Ruby Silver is noted for its shiny foliage, long blooming period, and ruby red flowers with white throats. Mimulus Ruby Silver can be found blooming as early as mid March and into early Summer. Mimulus Ruby Silver can grow in full sun near the coast, but prefers some shade, and requires shade during the heat of the day for inland gardens. Mimulus Ruby Silver required good drainage and does best with fairly dry conditions once established. The Ruby Silver Monkey Flower is a hybrid between two California species, Mimulus clevelandii X Mimulus longiflorus. Mimulus Ruby Silver is Winter hardy into the low 20°s F. Mimulus Ruby Silver is a great addition to the Butterfly Garden and the Hummingbird Garden. Mimulus is a larval host plant for the Checkerspot and Common Buckeye Butterflies.
