Calochortus nuttallii the Sego Lily is the state flower of Utah. Calochortus nuttallii grows 8-10" tall. The Calochortus nuttallii flowers are usually white with markings but the petals can be tinged with pink or even red. Calochortus nuttallii is native from the central Rockies through the desert Southwest excluding California. Calochortus nuttallii grows in meadows and grasslands. The first specimen was collected near the Tetons. Calochortus nuttallii blooms from late Spring through Summer.
