Acacia chinchillensis, Chinchilla Wattle
Acacia chinchillensis is finely textured grey shrub growing slowly to 5-8 feet tall and wide. The Chinchilla Wattle has finely divided silver white leaves. Acacia chinchillensis blooms with a cloud of yellow flowers at the branch tips in the early to mid Spring. Acacia cultriformis will be more compact if the flowers are removed once they are spent. Acacia chinchillensis is drought tolerant and will suffer if given excess water and will perform well as a container plant if kept on the dry side. Acacia chinchillensis is winter hardy into the mid teens° F. If left mostly to its own devices Acacia chinchillensis is an easy and spectacular addition to the landscape.
