Erysimum capitatum * Western Wallflower, Sand Dune Wallflower
Erysimum capitatum is found throughout California and west of the Mississippi. The Western Wallflower grows to about 18" tall. The orange flowers light up a shady spot in the garden as much as a sunny one. Plant wildflower seed in the Fall with the first rains. Add Erysimum capitatum to your Butterfly Garden to attract the Mormon Metalmark, Great Purple Hairstreak, Pale Tiger Swallowtail, Variable Checkerspot and Umber Skipper Butterfly.
