Caryopteris x clandonensis Longwood Blue
Caryopteris Longwood Blue can be used in many of the same situations that you would use a lavender. I like to slip some in when too much lavender has been used already and where a different texture might catch the eye. Caryopteris can form a wonderful, though deciduous, hedge. Caryopteris Longwood Blue shows off its blue flowers Spring through Fall. These plants will take much more chill than our Southern California garden is likely to dish out. I like the way the Caryopteris Longwood Blue shrubs look when the tips of the branches have been nipped back to encourage the plants to fill in.
