Arctotis Sun Spot Orange ~ Orange African Daisy
Arctotis Sun Spot Orange is one of a series of African Daisys. If you cut off the dead flowers Arctotis Sun Spot Orange has a very long blooming cycle. The primary blooming period is late Winter into Spring. Deadheading will extend this period significantly. These orange flowered African Daisys are drought tolerant, though they do better with a little summer water. And the Arctotis Sun Spot Orange is pretty hardy when temperatures drop into the mid to low 20°s F. Our Winter cold snaps often burn off the flowers in colder coastal and inland locations. Arctotis Sun Spot Orange will bloom better in the full sun but will put on a reasonable amount of color even in a lightly shaded planter. Painted Lady Butterflies, Mormon Metalmark, California Common Ringlet, Northern White Skipper, and White Checkered Skipper are attracted to the pollen of Arctotis Sun Spot Orange making the plant a great selection for the Butterfly Garden.
Other African Daisies from our list include Arctotis acaulis Torch Purple, Arctotis gumbletonii, Arctotis Opera Rose, Arctotis Pink Sugar, Arctotis stoechadifolia.
