Arctotis stoechadifolia ~ Cream African Daisy
Arctotis stoechadifolia is a cream colored African Daisy. Arctotis stoechadifolia produces a wealth of creamy white flowers in early Spring. If you cut off the dead flowers Arctotis stoechadifolia has a much longer blooming cycle. Arctotis stoechadifolia is drought tolerant, though they do better with a little summer water. Arctotis stoechadifolia spreads via surface runners that root as they go and does poorly with drip as the runners quickly leave the drippers behind. Best plan is to area water for the Cream African Daisy. Arctotis stoechadifolia is pretty hardy when temperatures drop into the mid 20°s F. Our Winter cold snaps often burn off the flowers in colder coastal and inland locations. Arctotis stoechadifolia will bloom better in the full sun but will put on a reasonable amount of color even in a lightly shaded planter. Painted Lady Butterflies Northern White Skipper, California Common Ringlet, and the White Checkered Skippers are attracted to the pollen of Arctotis stoechadifolia making the plant a great selection for the Butterfly Garden.
