Leander Rose * David Austin Rose * Introduced in 1982
The Leander rose can be noted for its long 6-8 foot arching canes. I have had success by treating it as a medium sized climber or large shrub rose. The first set of flowers are at the tips of the canes and as successive blooms appear new buds break out further and further down the canes. The rich apricot colored blooms are beautiful against the dark green leaves and red canes. I have had success with the Leander rose in less than ideal lighting, though most recommend full sun.
David Austin released this rose in 1982. The parents of the Leander rose include 'Charles Austin' and a seedling.
