Hibiscus syriacus Lavender Chiffon - Lavender Chiffon Rose of Sharon
Hibiscus syriacus Lavender Chiffon grows 6 to 10 feet in full sun to moderate shade. The Lavender Chiffon Rose of Sharon is capable of surviving on little or no extra water in a shady nook in the garden but will perform much better with irrigation, even an irregular modest helping of water helps immeasurably. Hibiscus syriacus Lavender Chiffon is a nectar and larval food source for the Painted Lady Butterfly, White Checkered Skipper and the Northern White Skipper and is a great addition to the butterfly garden. Lavender Chiffon Rose of Sharon blooms from late Spring into the Fall with semi-double lavender pink flowers. Hibiscus syriacus Lavender Chiffon is not picky about soils and is Winter hardy at least into the low teens, my coldest garden.
