Eschscholzia parishii - Parish's Poppy or Pygme Poppy
Eschscholzia parishii is native to the Creosote Scrub community in the lower deserts of Southern California. Parish's Poppy grows in sandy washes and on rocky outcrops. Eschscholzia parishii grows to roughly a foot tall and wide. The yellow flowers of Eschscholzia parishii are about an inch wide and are often nodding. Eschscholzia parishii blooms late Winter into Spring. The glaucus foliage of the Pygme Poppy makes this plant and excellent addition to the Silver and Gray Garden.
