Banksia caleyi - Red Lantern Banksia
Banksia caleyi is a moderate to large shrub growing to 8 x 8 feet or more. The red flowers grow on older wood, the knobby seedheads giving plants a gnarled look. Plant on a slope or in well drained soil. Banksia caleyi prefers full sun and is drought tolerant once established. Our Banksia caleyi plants have survived 20°F in good form. The hummingbirds like the red flowers.
