Tabebuia impetiginosa - Pink Trumpet Tree
Tabebuia impetiginosa is an excellent choice for inland valley locations. The pink flowers are produced extravagantly in the latter part of Winter and Early Spring. Later in the season Tabebuia impetiginosa is a fine small shade tree eventually reaching 25 feet. The Purple Trumpet Tree is a good street tree and can tolerate being planted in a lawn. It may take several years for Tabebuia impetiginosa to start blooming, I have seen some very reluctant trees in coastal communities. Tabebuia impetiginosa is hardy into the high teens. Hummingbirds are attracted to the deep trumpet shaped flowers of Tabebuia impetiginosa. Tabebuia impetiginosa is a parent in a cross with Tabebuia chrysotricha that created the stunning Tabebuia Apricot
