Reinwardtia indica - Yellow Flax
Reinwardtia indica is a great plant for the off season blooming time. The Yellow Flax starts blooming in the late Fall and blooms with yellow flowers through much of the Winter into Spring. Reinwardtia indica requires a fair amount of moisture in full sun but will perform quite well on a moderate irrigation diet in a lightly shaded garden. Reinwardtia indica grows 3 feet tall and wide. Reinwardtia indica spreads by sending up shoots from the roots. Older branches of the Yellow Flax fade after a season or two and plants look best if the above ground parts are thinned out. The Yellow Flax is tolerant of temperatures that dip into the mid 20°s F.
