Leucophyllum Green Cloud - Green Cloud Texas Ranger
Leucophyllum laevigatum is native to the Chihuahuan Desert and Rio Grande Valley of Texas, Northern Mexico and New Mexico. The wide range of conditions in which the Green Cloud Texas Ranger can thrive is nothing short of amazing. Leucophyllum Green Cloud only seems to require decent drainage once established, the steamy Southern US or the arid Southwest provide well for the Texas Ranger. Leucophyllum Green Cloud typically grows rather slowly up to 7-8 feet tall and wide. There are clouds of purple flowers as the weather warms in Spring into Summer and at times the Grreen Cloud Texas Ranger continues blooming into Fall. Leucophyllum Green Cloud is a host plant for the Checkerspot butterflies and a great addition to the Butterfly Garden. Leucophyllum Green Cloud is hardy to temperatures into the low teens.
