Gaura Passionate Rainbow - Wand Flower
Gaura Passionate Rainbow has pink striped white flowers, shorter flower stalks and red foliage compared the parent species Gaura linheimeri. Gaura Passionate Rainbow grows from 1 - 2 feet tall and wide. The red tinted foliage is useful in the garden regardless of beautiful pink striped flowers. At the end of the season I trim Gaura Passionate Rainbow almost to the ground. The old flower spikes are all dead sticks by this time. I have not met anybody calling these plants by any common name but Gaura. Gaura Passionate Rainbow is not picky about soil type and will get by on a pretty stingy water diet. Gaura Passionate Rainbow won't do well in shady sections. And yes, Gaura Passionate Rainbow does attract bees.
