Erythrina falcata - Brazilian Coral Tree
The Brazilian Coral Tree is one of the larger and more upright Coral Trees. It may take awhile to bloom, it did for us, requiring several years of patience before we got to see its red flowers. I care for an Erythrina falcata tree that was planted from a bursting 36" box that had been in the ground for more than 6 years before blooming. In the coldest location that I have planted this species, Erythrina falcata has been evergreen down to the mid 20°s F. It is a gorgeous tree except for that annoying potential for being so finicky about blooming.
