Erythrina coralloides - Naked Coral Tree
The Erythrina coralloides red flowers bloom when the tree has few if any leaves. The wood of this tree is weak and it can require some regular pruning to keep it from breaking itself down, though the Naked Coral Tree is not as bad about this as Erythrina caffra. Erythrina coraloides can grow to 20 feet tall and wide. This hardy tropical tree is probably the most cold tolerant of the coral trees, if not, Erythrina crista galli is.
