Cordia decandra * Carboncillo
Cordia decandra is a large shrub from Chile growing 8-12 feet tall and wide. Slender gray-green leaves are bunched at the ends of the branches. Cordia decandra comes from a dry area on the edge of the desert in Chile. Carboncillo grows well in sun or shade. The 1 inch white flowers grow at the tips of the branches. Added interest come from the black hairs on the flower buds. Cordia decandra is winter hardy to 30° F.
