Clerodendrum floribundum - Lolly Bush

Clerodendrum floribundum grows as a shrub or small tree, capping out at 20-30 feet. The fragrant white flowers of Clerodendrum floribundum are produced Spring into Summer in Western Australia. Here in California Clerodendrum floribundum blooms earlier from Winter into Spring. The flowers are followed by dark seeds on a red calyx, also cool to look at. The birds like the fruit. Clerodendrum floribundum is tender to frost. By our garden standards the Lolly Bush is drought tolerant, though in its native habitat it may be as easily found in streambeds as on rocky outcrops. Plant Clerodendrum floribundum in full sun to light shade.
