Bulbinella nutans - Cat's Tail
Bulbinella nutans is a striking rhizomatous perennial. The green foliage grows to a foot tall, the flowers to a foot and a half maybe a bit more. The Cat's Tail is native to South Africa. Bulbinella nutans has yellow flowers that are lightly fragrant and are clustered at the top of a central stalk. Bulbinella nutans is not particular about soil type but drainage is required. Summer dry conditions are perfectly acceptable for this drought tolerant perennial. Bulbinella nutans is Winter hardy into the mid-20°F range.
