Chaucer Rose * David Austin Rose * Introduced in 1970
The Chaucer rose has shell pink flowers fading as they unfurl with a golden yellow glow in the center of the rose petals. The Chaucer Rose is a good performer with a slight tendency to the fungal problems so it is best not to plant them too close to the coast. The flowers are great cut and very fragrant. Chaucer is a medium sized rose approaching 3-4 feet tall. The Chaucer Rose is a parent of a number of future David Austin Rose Indroductions.
The Chaucer Rose is the result of a cross between 'Duchess de Montebello' and 'Constance Spry'.
