The Brother Cadfael Rose is a tall and nearly thornless rose, and fragrant too. What more could you want for the back border than a rose than can leap to more than 8 feet. A large rose like Brother Cadfael can make a great statement. I prune Brother Cadfael and other large English roses like climbers. That gives me the greatest blooming results. It also limits how much tangled foliage there is to collect fungal diseases.
