Sesleria caerulea - Blue Moor Grass
Sesleria caerulea makes compact one foot tall bunches of grass that will gradually fill out to 18" wide. The pale blue-gray undersides of the leaves provide a striking contrast to the upper leaf. The Blue Moor Grass prefers regular water and rich soils. Sesleria caerulea is hardy to 0° F. The Blue Moor Grass is native to Europe. I give Sesleria caerulea an annual trimming to an inch or so tall late Fall or during the Winter and mulch between the plants.
