Scutellaria siphocampyloides - Greyleaf Skullcap
Scutellaria siphocampyloides is also in the trade as Scutellaria austinae. The Greyleaf Skullcap is a great plant for under oaks or in the drought tolerant garden or in sections of the garden that get partial shade. In the wild the Greyleaf Skullcap is found rarely enough that finding it is always a cause for celebration. The plants show their blue flowers peaking above the foliage in the Spring. Scutellaria siphocampyloides is hardy into the low teens and likely below. Plants will require good drainage or a dry section of the garden in the Summer. The Greyleaf Skullcap may go completely Summer dormant back to the roots.
