Ranunculus repens pleniflorus - Double Creeping Buttercup
Ranunculus repens pleniflorus is a sturdy though not overtly rambunctious groundcover in our dry climate. The yellow flowered Double Creeping Buttercup prefers a shady and moderately moist garden setting. Ranunculus repens pleniflorus will survive a limited amount of traffic, but will die back from regular throughways. Ranunculus repens pleniflorus has not proven capable of being invasive in our area, it stops where the water doesn't spray. Ranunculus repens pleniflorus has a reputation for rambunction and has made many a noxious weed list. I have had occasional mealybug infestations but they don't seem to stick around for long. Winter chill is not an issue for this plant in California gardens. Ranunculus repens pleniflorus is a nectar source for the California Common Ringlet butterfly.
