Muhlenbergia capillaris * Pink Muhly Grass, Hairy Awn Muhly Grass

Muhlenbergia capillaris grows foliage 2 feet tall and wide. The Pink Muhly Grass has pink flower stalks up to a foot beyond the foliage for a month in the Fall that add great color and texture to the garden. Muhlenbergia capillaris is native to Texas. Muhlenbergia dubia comes from a region with more rainfall than Southern California but does remarkably well on a low water diet. Pine Muhly grass prefers decent drainage and a full sun spot in the garden. Muhlenbergia capillaris looks best if sheared each Winter to about 6-8" tall.
