Mandevilla Alice du Pont
Mandevilla Alice Dupont is tender but spectacular and worth the hassle. This vine likes its roots cool and the top warm. A greenhouse would be great but there are plenty of places that can keep this beauty out of doors, just not my house during the winter. The hot pink flowers are 2 inches or more across. Near the coast the upper part of the plant will take full sun, inland a little shade is required. Regardless I plant the rootball where the ground is shaded. Much of a frost and this beaut is a gonner.
