Ligated Furrow Bee captured by a Green Lynx Spider
Ligated Furrow Bees are in a group of small bees called Sweat Bees. They are small and active pollinators and together rival the Honeybee for pollination. Ligated Furrow Bees nest in the ground, often in fairly large groups, their nest plots can be fairly extensive. The Ligated Furrow Bees are not particularly aggressive though they do get excited when you walk through their nest are. This Ligated Furrow Bee had the misfortune to attempt to pollinate a morning glory flower that was guarded by a Green Lynx Spider. The Ligated Furrow Bees are native to much of North America.
