Dierama pulcherrimum - Angel's Fishing Rod, Fairy Wand Flower
Dierama pulcherrimum has tall arching flower stalks with dark pink flowers dangling below. Giving the Angel's Fishing Rod the space to sway in the breeze is a must. The Fairy Wand Flower blooms in the latter part of Spring into Summer for us. Dierama pulcherrimum is not too particular about soil types but better draining soils or a drying out period between irrigation cycles helps. Dierama pulcherrimum grows to 4-6 feet, the foliage comes up to 18-24". Dierama pulcherrimum is winter hardy to below 10°F.
