Bergenia Bressingham Ruby is a compact cultivar of the Winter Bergenia. Bressingham Ruby Bergenia has bright pink flowers on 12-14" stalks in the Spring and sometimes repeats in the Fall. The large green leaves grow at the base. Bergenia Bressingham Ruby grows well in a dry shade garden. Plants should be spaced about a foot apart at planting. Bergenia Bressingham Ruby can be divided in the Fall. As the temperatures dip in the Fall the foliage turns red, though little color change is seen in frost free gardens.
