Angelonia angustifolia ~ Summer Snapdragon
Angelonia angustifolia adds a lot of color to the garden. The Summer Snapdragon has a long blooming season, late Spring through Fall. Our plants have bloomed in full sun to light shade conditions. Angelonia angustifolia is reasonably drought tolerant, and on the flip side reasonably tolerant of regular moisture. Though if your garden is moist the Summer Snapdragon requires decent drainage. Angelonia angustifolia grows to a foot tall and 18" to 2' wide. Cutting back spent stalks from the blooms extends the season significantly. Angelonia angustifolia is Winter hardy in frost free or near frost free gardens. Angelonia angustifolia performs best with warm to hot Summer conditions, hey and so much better than the gardener. Not so surprising once you think about the origins of Angelonia angustifolia coming from Southern Mexico and the West Indies. Angelonia angustifolia flower colors range from white through pink to purple with some varieties having true blue flowers.
