Aeonium arboreum atropurpureum * Black Tree Aeonium
The rich bronze red foliage of Aeonium arboreum atropurpureum will make a strong visual statement. I often use Aeonium Atropurpureum as a single specimen in a container or field of gravel. The plants grow to about 24-32" Aeonium arboreum atropurpureum looks striking as a silhouette against a pale wall or fence or mixed with gray plants. Aeonium arboreum atropurpureum is hardy into the mid twenties. Black Tree Aeonium flowers are on the lime green side of yellow. They really stand out against a dark background. Darker colors are evident when plants are in full sun. For almost black foliage look for the variety Aeonium Zwartkop
