Salvia patens - Gentian Sage

Salvia patens is a soft lush perennial that will give a tropical feel to a garden. The clear blue flowers are nearly 2 inches long. Salvia patens will grow to 2-3 feet tall and wide. Gentian Sage plants will die to the ground in temperatures that dip into the mid 20°'s and will die completely in the teens. Salvia patens will grow in full sun near the coast but prefers some shade in inland locations. Salvia patens is a great addition to the Hummingbird Garden as well as the Butterfly Garden.
