Spring Azure Butterfly - Celastrina ladon

The Spring Azure Butterfly is feeding on nectar from Ceanothus Wheeler Canyon. The Spring Azure has flights early in the Spring. Caterpillars are fond of Ceanothus, Chinese Houses, and Laurel Sumac. Adults eat nectar from a wide variety of sources including Ceanothus and the Buckwheats. Spring Azure Butterflies can often be found clustered around puddles.
