Nemophila menziesii - Baby Blue Eyes

Nemophila menziesii grows in full sun to light shade. Baby Blue Eyes can be found from near the coast to 6000 feet in elevation in the yellow pine forest community showing off its blue flowers with white centers in the Spring. Nemophila menziesii can often be seen on disturbed roadsides. Baby Blue Eyes seed should be scattered in the Fall as the first rains are approaching. Nemophila menziesii does not seem too particular about soils, but with heavier soils Baby Blue Eyes grows in areas that are sloped. In our area Nemophila menziesii often grows on shale scree.
