Leucadendron Silvan Red - Silvan Red Conebush

Leucadendron Silvan Red will be attractive in a garden even when it is not blooming. The colorful green foliage with red margins is quite a show by itself. The long lasting cones of flowers are surrounded by darkening red bracts for much of the year, concentrating from mid-Winter through the Spring. Leucadendron Silvan Red grows to 6 feet tall and wide. The Conebush plants are widely tolerant of soil types but require decent drainage and are quite drought tolerant. Leucadendron Silvan Red responds well to trimming and is a cut flower favorite. Leucadendron Silvan Red grows well in full sun and will tolerate Winter temperatures that dip into the low 20°s F.
