Kniphofia Shining Sceptre - Orange Hot Poker

Kniphofia Shining Sceptre is one of the earlier blooming Red Hot Pokers. Ours start blooming in May and repeating periodically through the Summer. Kniphofia Shining Sceptre has finer textured leaves than many of the others in the trade. Kniphofia Shining Sceptre withstood Winter temperatures in the low teens, and should be able to take temperatures down to 0° F, though flowers and foliage will be damaged if temps drop much below the upper 20's. Kniphofia Shining Sceptre foliage grows to 18 inches and stalks of pale orange fading to yellow flowers are nearly 3 feet. The hummingbirds battle for the rights to these flowers, this is a great addition to the Hummingbird Garden
