Gladiolus tristis - Yellow Marsh Africaner, Everflowering Gladiolus

Gladiolus tristis naturalizes readily. The pale lime yellow flowers of the Yellow Marsh Africaner are fragrant at night like many moth pollinated plants. Gladiolus tristis is native to South Africa and grows in streambeds and upland areas in the Summer rainfall area. the Everflowering Gladiolus can bloom Spring through Fall. Gladiolus tristis is not particular about moist soil conditions though it will also survive with little if any supplimental irrigation. The grassy foliage grows 18" to 24" and the flowers 24"-32".
