Eriophyllum staechadifolium is an easy perennial native to add to your garden. Eriophyllum staechadifolium is native to the California coast and northern Channel Islands up to an elevation of 300 feet. Eriophyllum staechadifolium grows up to a foot tall and 1-2 feet wide. The Seaside Golden Yarrow grows on the coastal bluffs and in well drained sandy soils. Being a coastal plant some protection from the heat will help for inland gardens. Eriophyllum staechadifolium produces golden yellow flowers from late Spring into Summer. Eriophyllum staechadifolium is Winter hardy into the mid-20°s. Eriophyllum staechadifolium is a great addition to the Butterfly Garden attracting the Painted Lady Butterfly, Hedgerow Hairstreak, Great Purple Hairstreak, California Common Ringlet, Mormon Metalmark, Northern White Skipper, and the White Checkered Skipper.
