Echinocereus engelmannii ~ Engelman's Hedgehog Cactus
Echinocereus englemannii has a brilliant show of hot pink flowers after a winter or spring rain. Engelman's Hedgehog Cactus is native to the low desert part of Southeasern California. Echinocereus engelmannii grows a foot or so tall and will form a slowly spreading clump as new heads of the cactus pup from the base. Echinocereus is winter hardy into the low 20°s F and likely colder.
