Delpinium patens is an 18" tall perennial with purple to blue flowers. The Zigzag Larkspur is native to oak woodlands and chaparral portions of the foothills of California. Delpinium patens grows on dry slopes in sun or shade. The Spreading Larkspur blooms from early to mid Spring. Delpinium patens is poisonous to livestock. Delpinium patens attracts the Western Tiger Swallowtail and Pale Swallowtail Butterflies and is a nice addition to the butterfly garden.
