Cuphea viscosissima ~ Blue Waxweed, Clammy Cuphea (syn Cuphea petiolata)

Cuphea viscosissima is almost as rambunctious as it is colorful. Cuphea viscosissima roots when the branches hit the ground, and produces purple flowers from early Spring through hard frost. Cuphea viscosissima grows from Florida to Vermont and through much of the Mississippi Valley. Our plants were sheared nearly to the ground with a light frost, didn't slow them down for long.
