Coreopis grandiflora Flying Saucers - Flying Saucers Tickseed

Coreopsis grandiflora Flying Saucers is a late Spring blooming perennial in our gardens. While Coreopsis Flying Saucers can put on a great short show of yellow flowers in dry and low water conditions, a little help and Flying Saucers Tickseed will perform through much of the Summer. Coreopsis Flying Saucers requires regular removal of the spent blooms to extend bloom time. This can take quite awhile for each plant so I ration how many of the Flying Saucer Tickseeds that I am willing to tend to in each garden. They can put on such a show that it is very tempting to plant a lot of them . . beware. Coreopsis Flying Saucers is Winter hardy in zones 4-10. Coreopsis is a plant for the Butterfly Garden attracting the Painted Lady, Great Purple Hairstreak, and Mormon Metalmark
