Cordia decandra * Carboncillo

Cordia decandra is a large shrub from Chile growing 8-12 feet tall and wide. Slender gray-green leaves are bunched at the ends of the branches. Cordia decandra comes from a dry area on the edge of the desert. Carboncillo grows well in sun or shade. The white flowers grow at the tips of the branches. Added interest come from the black hairs on the flower buds. Cordia decandra is winter hardy to 30° F.
