Bidens BeeDance Painted Red - Bidens ferulifolia

Bidens BeeDance Painted Red is a showy flowering half hardy perennial herb. The bloom season is long, in Southern California extending from Spring until deep into the Fall. Plants are sold from a sterile hybrid as rooted cuttings. The bees and butterflys don't know or care, the pollen is still good. Bidens ferulifolia grows 1-2 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide parent plants are native to the US Southwest. Compared to most annuals and perennials Bidens BeeDance is drought tolerant and pretty low maintenance. The showy flowers are yellow tipped with red. Apache Beggarticks and Carpet Tickseed are an entertaining common names attached to the species. Plant in full sun, enjoy the show. Apache Beggarticks is a nice addition to the Butterfly Garden, attracting Painted Lady's, Variable Checkerspots, Hedgerow Hairstreak, Great Purple Hairstreak, and Gray Hairstreaks.Winter temps of 10-15° F
