Agastache cv Apricot Sprite * Orange Hummingbird Mint

Agastache aurantiaca is a fragrant native Hyssop of the Southwest US and Mexico. The cultivar Agastache Apricot Sprite has a great scent and puts on a near continuous show of orange flowers from late Spring through Fall.. Agastache aurantiaca Apricot Sprite grows to about 2 feet tall and has a rather upright habit, the wild plants closer to 3 feet. The branches are pretty brittle so plants should not be placed next to dog paths and kid play zones or there will be dissappointment. This hyssop needs regular irrigation and good drainage. While Agastache aurantiaca is native to the Southwest it lives around seeps and moist areas. The long slender flowers attract hummingbirds and the roots attract gophers. Care should be taken for the latter.
