Salvia chamaedryoides Marine Blue - Marine Blue Germander Sage

Salvia chamaedryoides Marine Blue grows to 3 feet tall and wide. This plant is thought to be a garden hybrid between Salvia chamaedryoides and Salvia Indigo Blue. The Marine Blue Germander Sage blooms spring and summer with a smattering of blooms in the fall. Salvia chamaedryoides Marine Blue has larger more textured leaves the blue flowers are darker and the plants are more robust than the species. Salvia chamaedryoides Marine Blue performs best in full south facing sunlight. We have had no frost damage to Salvia chamaedryoides Marine Blue with minimum temperatures into the low 20° F range. Dogs and kids will destroy these brittle plants if they go running through. This is a good addition to the hummingbird garden and the butterfly garden.
