Bonica Rose * Introduced in 1984

I don't think there is a more rose with more flowers per blooming cycle than Bonica, nor with more blooming cycles. I like the modern shrub rose group. They can easily be included in the mixed shrub border. The Bonica rose seems like it is almost always in bloom and with numerous flowers per branch, it can be a solid mass of color. My plants have grown to about 4 feet on a consistent basis. I give the Bonica Rose little care except for the periodic trimming off of the spent flowers. While they will keep blooming profusely without this care the plants look much tidier if those spent blooms are removed.

High resolution photos of the Bonica Rose are part of our garden image collection.
