Erigeron speciosus * Aspen Fleabane, Showy Fleabane, Oregon Fleabane

Erigeron speciosus grows in the mountains as the Aspen Fleabane common name would indicate. It is one of the standouts in the meadows and worthy of the Showy Fleabane common name. Erigeron speciosus has beautiful blue flowers. The Oregon Fleabane blooms from late Spring into Summer. Erigeron speciosus has been selected for a number of garden varieties represented in the nursery trade and is regularly available from seed. Erigeron speciosus this is a great plant for the 'wild garden'. Erigeron speciosus is native to the western US but not in California. Erigeron speciosus grows one to two feet tall and spreads to about 2 feet. Erigeron speciosus is a nectar source for the Painted Lady Butterfly, California Dogface Butterfly, Gray Hairstreak, as well as the Common Buckeye and is a great addition to the butterfly garden.
