Erigeron glaucus Bountiful ~ Seaside Daisy

Erigeron Bountiful puts on a long lasting show with its blue flowers. The spent flowers can be a distraction in a fastidious garden, though they don't take that long to clean up. Over time Erigeron Bountiful tends to die out in the center. By this time the various branches will usually be rooted and this just makes for easier dividing. Erigeron Bountiful is a food source for the Painted Lady Butterfly, California Dogface Butterfly, Gray Hairstreak, as well as the Common Buckeye and is a great addition to the butterfly garden. While the Seaside Daisy is drought hardy if planted in a protected location the plants look pretty scrappy if they don't get at least semi-regular water. Erigeron Bountiful can be planted in full Sun near the coast, but prefers mid-day shade in inland gardens. Plants are Winter hardy into the low teens.
